BUYING LAMB

A whole lamb is made of two “halves” (each side of the lamb neck to tail).

We offer only whole and half lambs due to the smaller total take home meat yield.

For a typical lamb with a live weight of 120-140 pounds, a hanging weight of 70-80lbs, you’ll receive a take-home average of:

  • Whole: about 40-50lbs

  • Half: about 20-30lbs

*This estimation is approximate and varies. The TAKE HOME amount is slightly less after cuts are made.

  • Halal Butchering Available

FREEZER SPACE

The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 35 – 40 pounds of packaged meat. 40 pounds of lamb can fit in an empty average-size home freezer with 2.25 cubic feet of space.

COST

Each buyer is responsible for their share of the cost of the animal and the butcher processing. Price is calculated based on price per pound x the hanging weight (head, legs, and internal organs removed).
